Drag Brim to Applications
Open Brim.dmg from your Downloads, then drag the Brim icon onto the Applications folder.

Open it once, then click Done
Double-click Brim in Applications. Brim is so new that Apple hasn’t reviewed it yet, so macOS asks first. Click Done, never “Move to Trash”.
Allow it in Privacy & Security
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway next to “Brim”. Confirm with Touch ID or your password. You do this once for each new version.
If macOS shows the same message again for a part of Brim (its Now Playing helper), click Done and Open Anyway once more.
Say hi to your island
Brim welcomes you and asks for the few permissions it needs, like Accessibility so volume and brightness show in the notch. Then hover the notch. That’s it.
